The Humanist Legal Society held its inaugural event at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on July 19, 2018. The panel discussion featured Humanist Legal Society president David Codell alongside two prominent advocates, Shannon Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and Maya Rupert, policy director of the Center for Reproductive Rights. The panelists discussed the future of the Supreme Court in the wake of the departure of Justice Kennedy, focusing on what comes next for LGBT and women's rights.
